What about Bridal Jewelry?

Bridal jewelry is a very important topic that must be visited by every bride at some point or another. The jewelry that you will wear as you walk down the aisle is every bit as important as your dress. Think of the bridal jewelry as part of your dress because they do go hand in hand. Most of us cannot afford to go out and purchase brand new diamond earrings, bracelets and necklaces. The rest of the wedding is costing enough as it is. So what can you do if you are not sure what bridal jewelry to wear?

If you have any family heirlooms your wedding is the perfect time to wear them. Assuming that they match your dress of course. If you can get your hands on a fabulous piece of jewelry for less than the cost of your house go for it. If you know someone who has the perfect necklace or other fine piece of jewelry ask them if you can borrow it for the day, even if it is just for your trip down the aisle. This can be your something borrowed. Most women would be happy to help you out on such a special day, especially with something so simple.  Just make sure that if you do borrow some bridal jewelry that you take extra good care of them. You do not want it to be on your head if something happens to ruin the piece. If you are having trouble finding something genuine and fabulous don’t be ashamed to buy something fake. Some of the most gorgeous jewelry is not real, seriously. Remember if you don’t tell no one will know the difference. Besides it is not about what something is actually made of, it is what it looks like. If it looks like diamonds it might as well be. And let’s face it no one can tell real pearls from fake pearls. The boutique that you bought your wedding dress from should be able to help you find some amazing bridal jewelry, most of these shops have all of the accessories you could ever dream of.

Some dresses do not call for any bridal jewelry. If you have a very detailed dress jewelry might actually take away from its effect. Keep this in mind when deciding what bridal jewelry to wear with your gown. Bigger fancier, sparklier jewelry is best work with a simpler gown, one without pearls and crystals sewn on. If you do have a detailed dress but would still like to wear some bridal jewelry consider small, understated pieces. Like a diamond solitaire necklace or stud earrings. Just always keep in mind that the bridal jewelry should set off the dress not outshine it.
