Off the rack dresses while many are beautiful are simply not made of the same quality as couture. They are not sewn by hand but by machine and sadly this often shows.

Couture is very expensive and most wedding budgets just do not have room for such an expense. While an average off the rack dress could cost you $1500 a couture bridal dress will go for anywhere from $2500 to $4000 and up. That is a huge jump in price. When it comes to bridal dresses you really do get what you pay for.
